Cameo Meadows stormed into the staff room, she slammed her tye-dye bag down on the coffee table and sat heavily on the couch. Pesky kids! Some one had stolen some of her herbal remedies and used them in the chemistry lab to blow up a chair! And who had had to call the janitor? And remonstrate the offender? A werewolf- she might have known. She ran a finger trhough her long red hair, which spilled out over the cushions. Most of the days she loved teaching, yet today...may be it was the rain...it always seemed to rain when she was feeling rotten. And so tired to! Cameo had been on a blood abstinence vow for years, replacing it instead with herbal teas. And she had a craving for one right now. She sighed and stretched, standing up and gliding, her her dress of crushed green velvet, over to the kitchenette.

Elios was fast asleep on the lounge couch. He had worked too late and hadn't the strength nor the energy to drive home that night. He was still in his suit and tie and was woken from his sleep by Cameo bursting into the room. He woke up, giving a loud yawn. "Hey, Cam... hows it goin?" He said, pulling his hair from his eyes. "You seem a bit tense." He said, standing up and stretchine out his long arms.
He then followed her into the kitchen, his eyes, moving over the herb rack she had demanded that be put in there. "You know.. vampires are supposed to drink blood.. how you manage to create a blood substitute and it actually work... hell it's beyond me." He then walked to the fridge, grabbing a bottle of red wine, breaking the top open instead of uncorking it.

Cameo's hand shot out and covered the top of the wine bottle, "At least have something to eat first, Eli," she said softly, without even turning to face him as she rumaged in the herbal tea rack, choosing a nice soothing cammomile. Her multi-tasking skills had always been great, but were even more so since becoming a vampiress. "Let me fix you something." she offered, as she set the kettle to boil, and finally allowed herself to look at him. He still had the power to make her dead heart skip a beat. Somehow the day didn't seem so bad now. "Can I offer you some tea?" she gave him a teasing grin, her obsession with tea, and his constant refusal to drink some was an old joke between them. She looked at him, worriedly, and touched his cheek, "You look tired...are you alright?" Then she sighed and rolled her eyes, her hand dropping, "Who was she this time?" she asked in a voice weary of having to cope with clearing up after his conquests.

Elios chuckled slightly, shaking his head. "Nah.. nothing for me... one of the Lycan teachers left about twelve dozen steaks in the fridge and I ate one..." He then pulled the bottle back taking a large swig. "Aww.. no flirting today..." He gave a smug smile as he leaned against one of the counters. "I've been giving tours, lectures, contacting fledglings and such.. just alot of actually working today." He laughed.

"Then you missed the fiasco in the chemistry lab, or have you already been told about that?" she asked, rolling her emerald eyes and pouring scalding water into her terracotta mug, over the tea bag, she let it stew for a while, and turned to face Elios, crossing her arms, and looking up at him. It would take ages to remove the chair splinters from the window panes.

Elios pressed his free fingers against the top of his nose, closing his eyes. "No I have not been told about that... Like I need another problem... what the hell happened?" He said, looking back at her. "Wait.." He then took another chug of the wine. "Ok... you can tell me now." He said, sitting up on the counter.

Cameo laughed softly, her eyes glowing momentarily, to be replaced with the look of weariness and frustration she had dragged into the staff room with her. "Well, one of the lycans stole some of my herbal lotions- the purple aniseed one- highly explosive, and used it to blow a chair up in chemistry." She removed the tea bag and sliced it open, putting the withered cammomile heads in a pouch, her mother had always taught her to be resourceful. She then took the mug of tea and joined him on the counter, "Budge up." she said.

Elios reached up to his neck, loosening his tie. "This is getting uncomfortable" He said, dropping his jacket down to his shoulders as his eyes scanned the empty room. "Well did you at least give the damn Lycan a bill for the chair?"

"Nope, one better, I sent it to his parents, explaning the cause of it...somehow I don't think he'll be getting any extra allowance this month!" And Cameo grinned, looking away from Elios as he removed his jacket, to avoid temptation, and sipped her tea. Relief threaded through her, as she recieved the rush that most vampiresses recieved from drinking another's blood. That's better. She thought.

Elios finished off the bottle with one last swig, a little color coming to his silver face. "Heh.. well.." He hopped off the counter and walked to the fridge, hand gripping the door and opening it. "I wonder.. if a vampire can truly rest in peace..." He started rambling aloud. This was a lecture he gave to the new-come Wraith's who needed comfort. "At least we Wraith's, though lost we are, have a chance to finally pass to the other side. Vampires.. who knows... they might be damned the minute they are killed. We have a chance to make it better. So don't lost hope, never lose hope." A tear fell down his silver cheek, this speech always upset him, because of his seemingly endless search, but now he was tipsy and unintentionally hurting himeslf. "After six hundred years... my hope has not been lost." He then reached in, grabbing another bottle of wine, breaking the top open.

Cameo slid off the top of the counter and glided towards him, she again placed her hand over the top of the wine bottle again said, wiping away his tear, "Come on now, enough of this, there is no point in torturing yourself." she said firmly, taking his arm, "Come and sit down, I don't want you giving the staff notices tomorrow morning with a headache. I have spent too many nights cleaning up your sick, and giving you coffee and herbal remedies the next day. Please," she said, in a light voice, to avoid conflict, "Give me a night off tonight?"

Elios took his hand off the bottle, sighing. "I'm sorry... I just wish... I just wish sometimes.. she was you... or.. that if she is still alive, that she would come back already..." He slammed his fist into the fridge. "I'm so tired... I should be dead... not heartbroken and wandering the Earth for all eternity..."

Cameo nodded, but bit her lip, how could she tell him that she wished that too? He would only break her heart, he seemed incapable of staying faithful to one female. So, instead, she gently led him over to the sofa, and sitting down, she pulled back some straying strands from his face, "You look so weary, let me make you a sleeping draught." She stood up again and went to the kitchenette, she thought desperately of something to take his mind off things. "We had our first life drawing class today," she said, over her shoulder, as she took some of a blue powder out from a pot, and began heating some milk, "My pupils were actually all one time for once, and yet strangely dissapointed to see a wrinkly naked old man was the model instead of a buxom young female!" She laughed quietly at the memory, "Then, one of your little conquests suggested that you posed next week!"

Elios's eyes moved over to her, as always trying not to keep too much eye contact. As he had learned, that is how the Loveless Wraith's powers work, through the eyes. "They would just be painting a white blob with red eyes..." He said with some humor in his voice. He then looked at his hand, eyes scanning over it. "Hmmm... I need to... as you vampires say when taking blood to live... feed."

"Feed?" she asked, coming back over with the sleeping potion and setting on the coffee table before him, "It has been years since I drank blood, a habit hard to beat, but one which made me stronger." she combed her white fingers through her dark red hair, "So, who is the 'victim' this time?" she asked, smothering a yawn.
